This is a series of records of prehistoric human sites. Their history can be traced back to more than 40,000 years ago. All photos were taken in Yunnan Province in southwest China and all were completed using a 4X5 inch large format camera.Below is the color section of the series.
Since its launch in 2020, the photographic project "The Arche" has visited several Middle and Late-Paleolithic cave as archaeological sites. This project does not aim to restore a moment or coordinates in archaeological time, but rather to present the phenomenon of the imaginary of eternity and time, space and relics from the cave as a spatial and temporal “duration”(BERGSON).This series of works is not a pictorial confirmation of archaeological conclusions, but an exploration of the boundaries between the fields of photography and archaeology.Especially since the interdisciplinary concept of "Archeography" was introduced by Lesley McFadyen and Dan Hicks, scholars of archaeology and history at the University of Oxford in 2020, it has opened up more interpretative and expressive possibilities for images of sites.Today, this photographic exploration of human history, archaeological sites, spatial imagery and contextual construction is continuing.
